Premium (2006) Pu Erh Tea Tuo (Mound) (250g)
Why is this tea special?
This Pu Erh Tea Tuo (Mound) is from Ten Mile Tea's 2006 crop. Like wine, pu erh tea develops deeper and more aromatic flavors as it ages, making this one of the finest pu erh teas from Ten Mile Tea Farm.
Ten Mile Tea Farm partners with select farms in Yunnan's Xi Shuang Ban Na (西双版纳) and Lin Cang (临沧), areas historically famous for pu erh tea, to source our raw tea leaves. Each batch is dried, rolled, mixed, fermented and stamped into cakes using our traditional and prioperatary preparation process to ensure the best flavor and aroma for our Ten Mile pu erh tea cakes and mounds.
Flavor and aroma profile
Ten Mile pu erh tea has a woody aroma with a pure, earthy flavor, and has numerous health benefits. Because of the high quality of leaves and our proprietary mixing process, our tea maintains its flavor across many steeps and, unlike other teas, will become more flavorful as it it stored for longer. A 250g mound such as this one will last hundreds of brews.
Brewing Instructions - Pu Erh Tea
Pu erh has a strong flavor, so it is highly recommended to not let the tea steep for too long. If you do not have a tea infuser, you can brew the tea in a pot and pour out to separate cups to enjoy
Instructions:
1. Break off ~3g of tea leaves and add to 8 oz cup or pot
2. Add boiling water (~100°C) to the cup or pot, then discard the water when the tea cake begins to break up (~20 seconds).
3. Fill the cup or pot again with water and steep to desired strength (~10-20 seconds seconds for first brew; tea should be a light, earthy color)
4. Pu erh can be re-used for 8+ brews, just add water and steep to taste
